Lodi Adopt A Child 2012 Christmas Program | Community Spirit

It is Christmas once again and we at Lodi Adopt A Child need help providing Christmas to 1200 underprivileged children. Our Christmas Party is on Saturday December 15th this year and we hope to give presents of toys and clothing to all of these children. We cannot do it alone, we need your help spreading the word ... We still have approximately 500 angel cards that need to be "adopted" meaning shopped for and delivered back to our office for wrapping, if people cannot shop they can donate money and we will do the the shopping for them. If you could help by doing a special interest story to get the word out we would sure appreciate it. Also, if you could please  share it on your website and facebook page.

Lodi Adopt A Child Foundation began in 1989 as the idea of a Lodi Police Officer Dennis Lewis. Dennis wished to fill an obvious need he saw within our community. "There are children that fail in life because of missed opportunities to join productive groups and organization's or to receive a gift out of love."

Over the ensuing years community volunteers and contributors have rallied to form Lodi Adopt A Child in an effort to help the disadvantaged youth of our community.We receive the names of our children in need from police officers during their daily contact with families and Lodi Unified School District supplies the majority of the children's names for our Annual Christmas program.

n 2010 we filled wishes for 1184 children and granted the of a new bicycle or tricycle to over 250 children. Donated computers were refurbished and given to children in need of one for school. We are not able to fulfill these wishes without the help of our community.

We are located at 100 E. Pine Street, Lodi CA 95240 Phone 209-333-1056 ... Monday - Friday 10 am to 8 pm on December 8th we close at 4 pm for the parade of lights and Saturday & Sunday 10 am to 6 pm.

Lodi Adopt A Child is and all volunteer organization. We have no paid staff. On behalf of our Board of Directors and our kids I wish to thank you for your past support and hope you have a Merry Christmas.
