49er logos popping up on lawns | Fun

STOCKTON, CA - Stockton resident Randolph Phillips thought of the idea when he was a Saints fan living in New Orleans.  That's when he first painted NFL logos on lawns for fans.

When he moved to California, it only made sense he continue doing that for other football fans and 49ers/lawn fever has taken off.

"I've done so many now, I don't need a picture.  I just draw from my head," said Phillips,  who's painted lawns in Stockton, Manteca and Lodi.

He charges $150 dollars and he said the logo will stay visable in the lawn for up to six weeks.

He's happy to do any logo, but if it's for the Dallas Cowboys, there are some strings attached, because of his dislike for that organization.

"The price is so steep, they wouldn't want it after I told them what it would cost to do the star," said Phillips.
