GALT, CA - Mason Fluty is back home as he recovers from a surgery that separated his fingers and toes.

The 1-year-old has Aperts Syndrome, a rare disease which fuses fingers, toes and even parts of the skull together.
"It's been a long road, but I'm feeling grateful and overwhelmed about the surgery for my son," Mason's mother Casey Frietas said.
The 6-hour procedure was performed at Medical City Children's Hospital in Dallas where doctors said it was a success. But insurance wouldn't cover the $75,000 cost.
However, the Galt community stepped up with fundraising events and as of last week, had raised about $50,000 for Mason.
"I'm so grateful for the generosity of people we don't even know that have stepped up to help Mason," Frietas said.
More money is needed to help pay for Mason's surgery. A website was setup in Mason's name to help raise money, Masonfluty.com
