STOCKTON, CA - A Stockton-area man presumed to be violent and dangerous failed to surrender to begin a nine-year prison sentence, says the California Highway Patrol.
Officer James Smith said Nathaniel Alexander Smith, 43, was charged with felony driving under the influence in a 2010 crash that seriously injured two CHP officers. He was also accused of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Nathaniel Smith was described as black, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 260 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes.
The CHP thinks Smith could be anywhere in San Joaquin County. Anyone who sees or has information on Smith was urged to contact the CHP at 1 (209) 943-8600.
